Johnny Buckland is a British musician, best known as the guitarist for the band Coldplay. He was born in Islington, London and moved to Pantymwyn in North Wales with his family when he was four years old.

Early Life and Musical Influences

Buckland's interest in music was sparked by his older brother, Tim, who is a big fan of My Bloody Valentine. He began playing the guitar at the age of eleven, inspired by The Stone Roses. Buckland attended Alun School in Mold, Wales, before continuing his education at University College London, where he studied mathematics and astronomy. It was during his time at university that he met his future bandmates.
